"The Author, it must be remembered, writes from his own standpoint!"
My personal "Interpretive" Lens!

"One thing has always been true: That book ... or ... that person who can give me an idea or a new slant on an old idea is my friend." - Louis L'Amour

"Providing a first step on a path to self-reflection." - C. E. James

"Read not to contradict and confute; nor to believe and take for granted; nor to find talk and discourse; but to weigh and consider..." - Francis Bacon

"What is true today may be reevaluated as false not long after. Judgements are frequently based upon a set of "temporary" circumstances surrounding them. Conflicting ideologies can exist simultaneously. Antagonistic dualities are complementary aspects of a unified whole: are seen as mutually dependent mirror images of each other." - Nahum Stiskin

Kenpo Gokui

The lines of the ken-po goku-i are set from an atomistic aspect simply because it is the manner in which the brain learns. Its nature is completely holistic and like the I Ching must be in a form that promotes learning and understanding so a person can see, hear and grasp the nature of a holistic system. The gokui is a method to teach us how to be holistic. Its terseness is the best that can be done to convey its holistic meaning.

A person's heart is the same as Heaven and Earth while the blood circulating is similar to the Sun and Moon yet the manner of drinking and spitting is either soft or hard while a person's unbalance is the same as a weight and the body should be able to change direction at any time as the time to strike is when the opportunity presents itself and both the eyes must see all sides as the ears must listen in all directions while the mind must grasp all the tactile, olfactory and gustation data not seen on all sides and not heard in any direction

The Tao of Gokui - five

Heaven and Earth don't play favourites; they treat everything with equal detachment.

In combat we must have not attachments. We must not think; we must not judge; we must remain open of mind so that the ear hears all and the eye sees all; to include the third eye. We remain pure in spirit (heart), mind, and body.

We see it all equally and with out any thoughts one way or another. We merely see it all as unspoken/un-thought actions and reactions. The action dictates the reaction so the spirit acts, the mind reacts to the spirit, and finally the body reacts to the mind.

To be detached is not detachment but mindful present moment non-detachment to the attachment. Learn this well and then let it all go for it is always there with out being there. This is the "Way".
Sages don't play favourites; they treat good people and bad with equal detachment.

Receive it all openly and let it be natural. Train properly with dignity, morality, and a mind of detachment and all will occur accordingly.

Heaven and earth are like a set of bellows.

The energy that travels between and with heave and earth create a wave of energy that provides the sun and moon its intent. The Earth receives and gives from the sun and moon to humanities connectivity to it.
Although empty, they are endlessly productive.

The void is empty and we fill it with our energy. Our energy comes from our practice of the way. We strive through singular endeavors to create a balance of energy called, "Ki" or "Chi". When the meridians of our spirits, mind, and bodies are clear they are of the "void" which allows the ki to travel freely and of its own volition. Failure restricts and interrupts; avoid this...

The more you work them, the more they produce.
The mouth, on the other hand, becomes exhausted if you talk too much.
Better to keep your thoughts inside you.

Kuchi-bushi :-)
